An American Bittern was spotted again around the pond and in the ditch next to the Marsh Trail.  Snakes (Garters, Redbellies, Smooth Greens) are on the move and showing themselves on the trails as they seem to do in the fall possibly scouting hibernation sites or slowly making there way to them.  You may see dead shrews on the Marsh Trail. This time of year they sometimes get overzealous in territorial defense and kill each other.  .

The best sighting right now is an Osprey that has been fishing the ponds for the last week.  Also, Green Herons, Goldfinches gleaning the thistles, and milkweed pods.
